DHOKRA ART WORKSHOP

Dhokra art is a traditional metal craft that involves casting brass, nickel, and zinc alloys using the lost wax technique. The process involves intricately patterning a clay core with beeswax ribbons, then coating it with a mixture of clay and hay. The clay model is then wrapped in thin strands of beeswax using a tool called a Thassa. The metal is then melted and cast into the mold.
