B.Des in Interior Design — Program Syllabus

The four-year syllabus covers design foundations, color theory, art and architecture history, sketching, graphics, anthropometrics, materials, construction, interior services, furniture design, lighting, landscape design, sustainable design, acoustics, estimation, costing, and project management. Students also complete studio projects for residential, commercial, hospitality, entertainment, food and beverage, and public spaces, followed by professional training, a final project, and a research thesis.

The B.Design Interior Design program is a four-year bachelor’s degree. The first year builds foundational visual and design-process skills. The second year introduces technical interior design studies and a residential studio project. The third year focuses on more complex commercial and luxury residential work. The fourth year covers professional practice, advanced studio projects, professional training, a final design project, and a research thesis.

Students learn AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3DS MAX, and Revit. AutoCAD supports professional drafting and working drawings, while SketchUp is used for 3D modeling. 3DS MAX helps students create detailed visualizations and rendered interior concepts. Revit introduces building information modeling workflows. Together, these tools support the presentation, technical development, and visualization of interior design projects.

The program includes a Residential Interiors project in the second year, followed by Commercial Interiors and Luxury Residential Interiors projects in the third year. In the fourth year, studio work addresses food and beverage spaces, hospitality environments such as luxury hotels, entertainment spaces, and public spaces. Students also complete a Final Design Project that demonstrates their overall design development and professional readiness.

Yes. The B.Design Interior Design program is a four-year, full-time, on-campus degree offered by Artemisia College of Art & Design. Its studio-led structure gives students opportunities to develop projects, practice software workflows, work with design concepts, and receive academic guidance in a dedicated learning environment. The academic program combines theoretical subjects, technical studies, practical studio work, professional training, and a final research-led project.

Applicants can seek admission through the ACAD Entrance Test, for which the entrance exam form fee is ₹1,000 and includes ACAD Admission Test fees. Portfolio-based early admission followed by a personal interview is also available. Registration and tuition fees are non-refundable. Graduates can pursue roles with architectural firms, builders, public works departments, hotel and resort chains, hospitals, town-planning bureaus, regional and metropolitan development offices, design studios, theatres, and exhibition organizations. The degree also supports self-employed practice and specialization in areas such as lighting design or hospitality design. A portfolio of studio projects, technical drawings, and visualizations is valuable when applying for roles.
