No. The Master of Fine Arts in Painting program is a full-time, on-campus course at Artemisia College of Art & Design and is not offered through distance education. The program runs for two years and is structured across four semesters. The academic term begins in July and concludes with examinations in May. Each semester combines advanced composition or portrait practice with contextual subjects such as art history, materials and methods, research, exhibition preparation, aesthetics, and art-business studies.

The program is designed for artists who have completed a BFA in Painting and want to pursue advanced professional practice in creative painting or portraiture. Admission begins with submission of the required portfolio and an admission form fee of ₹1,000, which covers portfolio evaluation and the interview process. Shortlisted applicants complete a technical interview followed by a personal interview. Topics include Indian, Asian, European, African, and American art traditions; experimental painting approaches; curatorial planning; documentation; branding; networking; grants; pricing; and financial literacy for artists.

Digital Painting is offered as an optional subject within the MFA Painting curriculum. It introduces Photoshop-based techniques such as brush creation, layer logic, blending traditional textures with digital layers, layout and composition mapping, and digital portfolio development. This option helps artists explore digital workflows while maintaining a strong focus on their studio-based painting practice.

Yes. Exhibition learning is integrated throughout the four semesters. Students study gallery etiquette, portfolio basics, artwork documentation, photography, inventory management, digital cataloguing, curatorial layouts, and degree-show planning. In the final semester, students create, curate, and present a museum-quality body of work, supporting a more complete professional portfolio for galleries and opportunities.
